Zen Shiatsu

Zen Shiatsu is a Japanese healing art based on over 3,000 years of Traditional healing practices. In Shiatsu’s basic form, the body is revitalizedand balanced through a deep, relaxing massage; in Shiatsu’s advanced application, specific ailments of the human condition are addressed.

Its application in ‘healing sessions”, is to support the corresponding physical shifts in consciousness that occur with awakening and the embodiment process. The body is consciousness. It is a living direct manifestation of your consciousness and experience of reality. There are amazing and phenomenal shifts in physical structures, organ consciousness and brain organization that occur with awakening and embodiment. Sometimes old injuries or habitual patterns inhibit the flow of consciousness that is arriving and physical support is necessary. Hands on work in this context is more subtle than traditional zen shiatsu.

In traditional Zen Shiatsu, the body, mind, and spirit are observed as interconnected and unified in the theory. Shiatsu works with the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of an individual to help re-establish and maintain balance.

Treatments may be used to aid in:

  • healing physical symptoms
  • relief from chronic and acute conditions
  • recovery from injury
  • stress reduction

Shiatsu naturally stimulates the body’s innate healing capabilities and can be used as both a preventative and corrective health alternative. Clients suffering from sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, menstrual cramps, depression, insomnia, whiplash, TMJ, chronic fatigue syndrome, and neck and back pain have all benefited from shiatsu treatments.
